Vision

Our watershed is vital to us all and has sustained our communities, culture, wildlife, and traditions for many generations and we have worked to sustain it. We envision a watershed where diverse communities collaborate to benefit stakeholders by fostering climate changes, fire resilience, protecting the access to clean water for historical communities, and by providing opportunities for meaningful engagement in land and water management. Our process is based on building and nurturing relationships to continuously increase the health of the watershed for our shared and mutual benefit. We envision a watershed that is snow capped with a healthy forest, where arroyos recharge aquifers, and waterways flow with abundant clean water to sustain wildlife, hunting and fishing, farming, ranching, communities, and traditional ways of living for all the many generations and future generations. Our hard work will assist in creating and maintaining thriving ecosystems that will be more resilient to climate changes, while providing economic opportunities for everyone in our Santa Cruz Basin. We continue to work hard to make sure the infrastructure for our dam, waste water, drinking water, restoration projects, and acequias are well cared for. Our sacred waters bring us hope and inspiration to raise the next generation of agricultural leaders and stewards. We respect our collective heritage and cultural values, recognizing that our shared history enriches our approach to environmental stewardship.
